Panelist Bio

A military veteran and Chief Information Security Officer at Akumin, Fred Clayton serves as a business leader and trusted advisor to the Board and Executive Leadership Team (ELT), directing cybersecurity strategy and patient data protection across nationwide outpatient facilities. Drawing on leadership experience across the military, fintech, and public sectors, he specializes in pragmatic defense architectures, incident readiness, and resilient healthcare operations. Deeply engaged in the peer community, Fred serves on multiple advisory boards—including the Executive Council for SINC—and actively collaborates with security leaders across North Texas. He is also passionate about giving back by mentoring emerging practitioners and championing greater diversity and inclusivity across the cybersecurity profession.
