Talk Title:  From BYOD to BYO-Breach: Mobile Security in an AI-Accelerated Threat Landscape

Abstract

Mobile devices have become the primary enterprise endpoint,  the gateway to email, SaaS platforms, MFA tokens, and sensitive corporate data. Yet they remain among the least monitored and protected assets in most organizations, particularly where BYOD adoption is widespread.

This session unpacks the mobile threat landscape in the age of AI: network-level risks, malicious applications, spyware, and AI-enabled phishing. It closes with practical, actionable steps organizations can take to assess and reduce mobile risk across people, process, and technology.

Speaker Bio

Augusto Morales is Manager of Workspace Security Engineering at Check Point Software Technologies, where he leads efforts to defend enterprise mobile and workspace environments against modern threats, from malicious apps and spyware to AI-driven phishing. He holds a PhD in Telematics Systems Engineering from the Technical University of Madrid, is a Senior Member of the IEEE, and holds industry certifications including CISSP and CCSP. Augusto has authored more than 20 research papers on security topics ranging from mobile threat defense to distributed systems resilience, and regularly works with enterprise security teams navigating the risks of BYOD and an increasingly AI-accelerated threat landscape.
