Prior to joining the Information Security team at State Farm, Alena was a university professor and a researcher in the field of agribusiness. During her 8-year career at State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company,  she has worked as a governance, risk and compliance analyst, helped build internal training programs for cybersecurity professionals, and is currently working on maturing cyber threat intelligence capability within State Farm's vulnerability management program. Alena is passionate about developing people, she is a life-long learner and a dedicated mentor to the new generation of cybersecurity leaders. In addition to her full-time job as a threat intelligence analyst, she is an adjunct professor of cybersecurity at Collin College and a Student Subchapters Director at NTX ISSA Board.
